I texted late in the afternoon for a scooter, and just 40 minutes later it was delivered free of charge to my hotel. Brand new vehicle. I really enjoyed cruising around the island. Pick-up was also at the hotel without any hassle. Friendly, transparent, and reliable service. No nonsense, no trouble. This is exactly what you want.

Genuinely hands down, one of the best experiences Ive had with any store owners so far backpacking. I made a request on whether if we could pay more just to rent the bikes just a little longer and the owners were flexible and kind enough to agree. They opened later just for my friends and I….. Come on. That has to be one of the best services ever. Prices were good and owners were even nice enough to offer us a can of beer. My friends and i were thankful that we rented from this company. These Guys offer a truly fantastic service, I was a walk in, and they were able to accommodate me with a top of the range 160cc moped (just what I was looking for). We arrived at Koh Samui unsure if we wanted a rental for a day or a few days to see the island. Ended up renting for a month. The team at Coconut were amazing! Any question I had was quickly answered. We had a small issue with a bike where the seat latch wasn’t working. They quickly got us a different bike and back to enjoying the island! Highly recommend. They also deliver!

Well what can one say.
Hired a nice Honda city for nearly 2 weeks from these lovely people from beginning to the end the service was outstanding. Had batteries go in the car key half way through the hire, was sorted in minutes, don't get that in the uk 😁.
When we dropped the car off, they even give us a lift back to the hotel, which just shows how much they care about their service and not about the money in their back pockets.

We used Coconut Rentals while we stayed on Samui. We hired a nearly new Honda while we were on the island for a month and have to say the whole service was excellent. I manage a number of Villas on Samui and have customers coming and going all the time. Many customers ask for bike or car hire. Since Coconut Island rentals has opened, I have always used them for my customers car or bike hire. The service is excellent they drop off cars or bikes to villas anywhere on the Island. Also, they can collect cars/bikes if required when customers are finished their vacation. All bikes are new, and rates are very competitive. Highly recommend this company.

We recently used Coconut Island Rentals for our short trip to Samui and couldn’t have been happier with the service we received.
Steve and James were a delight to deal with, they met us at our hotel with the car and we agreed to meet them at the pier when we left at the end of our stay.
The car we had (Honda) was great; in excellent condition, spotless inside - perfect for getting us around the island.
We were in Samui for Songkran and Steve and James also gave us loads of tips of places to go and areas to avoid (traffic) to make the most of our time. They have both been on the island for a long time so have lots of insider tips and suggestions!
All in all, a great service. I’d recommend Coconut Island Rentals if you’re ever on the island and need 4 (or 2) wheels!

Motorbike Safety on Koh Samui.

Before You Ride:

• Check Your License – An international driver’s permit (IDP) with a motorcycle endorsement is recommended. Police may fine riders without proper documentation.
• Inspect the Scooter – Check the brakes, lights, tires, and fuel levels before riding. Report any damages to us.
• Wear a Helmet – Helmets are legally required and can save your life in an accident.
• Understand Local Traffic Laws – Drive on the left side, follow speed limits, and avoid reckless maneuvers.

While Riding:

• Drive Defensively – Local traffic can be unpredictable. Watch for cars, other scooters, and sudden road obstacles.
• Avoid Riding in the Rain – Roads can become slippery, increasing the risk of skidding.
• Stay Sober – Drunk driving is illegal and strictly enforced. Penalties can be severe.
• Watch out for Sand, potholes, and oil. Some roads, especially near beaches, have loose sand and hidden potholes. Also, please watch for oil spots on corners going uphill.
• Use Headlights at Night – Visibility is low, and some roads have poor lighting.

Parking & Security:

• Follow Parking Restrictions – Do not park near government buildings, temples, or areas blocking sidewalks.
• Avoid Restricted Zones – Parking is prohibited where the curb is painted red/white (no parking) or yellow/white (loading zone). Police may issue fines or tow your scooter.
• Use Designated Parking Areas – Many hotels, beaches, and markets have scooter parking zones.
• Lock Your Scooter – Theft can occur. Always lock the handlebars and use a secondary lock if available. Avoid Parking on the Beach – Tide changes and sand can cause scooters to tip over or sink.
• Check with Locals – If unsure, ask a local business or your rental provider where it’s safe to park.
